The world
Waypoints
Seven fast-travel points, one per region. Unlock them with your class level and travel for free.
Every region has a waypoint NPC. Talk to one and, if your class level is high enough, you unlock that waypoint permanently. After that you can travel between any two unlocked waypoints.
Travel is free. There is no cost to unlock and no cost to use.
The seven waypoints
| Waypoint | Region | Class level needed |
|---|---|---|
| Aurel Coast | 1-5 | 1 |
| Verdant Plains | 5-10 | 5 |
| Sunstorm Desert | 10-20 | 10 |
| Evergreen Wilds | 15-25 | 15 |
| Ashen Expanse | 20-30 | 20 |
| Frostpeak Range | 30-40 | 30 |
| Mistvale Coast | 40-50 | 40 |
The requirement is always the bottom of the region's band - so a waypoint unlocks exactly when the region becomes survivable.
The level that counts is your class level, not your character level. See Classes for the difference, and Level Requirements for why you should care.
Unlocking one
Right-click the waypoint NPC. That is the whole interaction - the NPC checks your level and unlocks the waypoint if you qualify, then opens the travel menu.
If you are too low, it tells you. Come back when you have levelled.
Using them
Once you have two or more unlocked, open the travel menu from any waypoint NPC and pick a destination. You can also use commands:
| Command | Does |
|---|---|
/waypoint list | Shows every waypoint and which you have unlocked |
/waypoint tp <id> | Travels to one you have unlocked |
/waypoint unlock <id> | Unlocks one, if you meet the level |
Why bother
Fast travel changes how you play. Without it, going back to spawn for supplies is a walk of several minutes each way, and most players simply do not go. With it, a trip home costs nothing.
It also makes the level bands practical. A player who has outgrown Aurel Coast can still mine there without committing an evening to the journey.
