Combat
Bosses
Fourteen named bosses across the survival worlds, plus twenty-one roaming creatures that are not bosses at all.
A boss is a normal Minecraft mob - a ravager, a husk - wearing a custom model. The mob underneath is still the hitbox, so if you can hit the model, you are hitting the boss. You will also see its level and name floating above it.
Bosses come in three kinds, and they behave very differently.
Region bosses
Seven bosses, one per Survival1 region. Each is announced when it spawns, carries a health bar, and respawns 30 minutes after it dies.
| Boss | Region | Level | Health | Damage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Horncrown, the Verdant Bull | Verdant Plains | 10 | 280 | 20 |
| Sunstorm Sandworm | Sunstorm Desert | 15 | 400 | 28 |
| The Starving Cold | Evergreen Wilds | 20 | 480 | 35 |
| Pyrewing, the Ashen Wyrm | Ashen Expanse | 25 | 450 | 38 |
| Frostpeak Yeti | Frostpeak Range | 35 | 350 | 25 |
| Maelstrom of Mistvale | Mistvale Coast | 44 | 250 | 18 |
| Mistvale Leviathan | Mistvale Coast | 45 | 350 | 25 |
Notice the two Mistvale bosses. The region has a pair, not one.
Hidden bosses
Seven more bosses exist that are never announced. Each has a 3% chance to appear when its region rolls a spawn, and they respawn 60 minutes after death.
They are also much stronger than anything else at their level:
| Boss | Region | Level | Health | Damage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aurel Hydra | Aurel Coast | 5 | 400 | 25 |
| Verdant Chimera | Verdant Plains | 10 | 450 | 28 |
| Sunstorm Sphinx | Sunstorm Desert | 20 | 650 | 40 |
| Evergreen Leshy | Evergreen Wilds | 25 | 800 | 50 |
| Ashen Ifrit | Ashen Expanse | 30 | 750 | 45 |
| Frostpeak Bigfoot | Frostpeak Range | 40 | 600 | 35 |
| Mistvale Jörmungandr | Mistvale Coast | 50 | 600 | 35 |
The Jörmungandr is the largest creature on the server, and the Bigfoot is second. Being enormous is not just decoration - a bigger model means a bigger hitbox, which means it is easier to hit and harder to walk around.
These are the bosses a party is built for. Anyone in a party who comes within 24 blocks of a live hidden boss drags the whole party in - see Parties.
The Sunstorm Pharaoh
An eighth hidden boss exists in the files and is switched off. It was designed to arrive with the Sphinx following it into the fight, which is why the Sphinx has a 0% chance to roll on its own
- it was only ever meant to appear alongside the Pharaoh.
Until the Pharaoh is enabled, the Sphinx cannot spawn at all.
Roaming creatures
Twenty-one creatures roam the regions. They are not bosses: no announcement, no health bar, no respawn timer. They are simply the region's wildlife, and they are a great deal stronger than the vanilla mobs around them.
| Region | Creatures | Levels |
|---|---|---|
| Aurel Coast | Reef Stalker, Tideclaw, Storm Harpy | 3-5 |
| Verdant Plains | Horned Boar, Razorclaw, Behemoth | 6-10 |
| Sunstorm Desert | Dune Scorpion, Desert Ghoul, Sand Wraith | 12-18 |
| Evergreen Wilds | Dire Wolf, Forest Troll, Ancient Treant | 17-25 |
| Ashen Expanse | Ash Ghoul, Magma Hound, Obsidian Golem | 22-30 |
| Frostpeak Range | Icebound Wolf, Frost Wraith, Ice Giant | 32-39 |
| Mistvale Coast | Siren, Sea Serpent, Isonade | 42-46 |
A few have habits worth knowing:
- The Reef Stalker never leaves water, and the Tideclaw never leaves sand.
- The Storm Harpy only appears at night.
- Each region keeps a limited number alive at once - two to six depending on the creature - so you
cannot farm one spot forever.
A note on sounds
Every creature on this list roars. The bigger ones are loud enough that you will hear them before you see them, which is usually the first warning you get.
