Server Rules & Odd Jobs
The rules, the AFK zone, why town is fast, and where you respawn.
A handful of smaller systems that do not belong anywhere else.
The rules
/rules (or /serverrules) opens the server rules in chat. There are four pages:
| Page | Covers |
|---|---|
| 1 | Player rules |
| 2 | Gameplay rules |
| 3 | Staff rules |
| 4 | The important ones |
You can page through with clickable links, or jump straight to one with /rules 3.
Reading them is genuinely worth ten minutes - especially page 4.
The AFK zone
There is an AFK zone in town, reachable with /warp afkzone. Standing inside it pays you for being online without doing anything:
| Time in the zone | You get |
|---|---|
| Every 5 minutes | 1 coin |
| Every 60 minutes | 1 Starter key |
The two are separate counters, so the coin payout never eats your progress toward a key.
Your time is saved when you leave. The clock stops; it does not reset. Ten minutes now and fifty minutes tomorrow is an hour, and the key is yours either way.
There is deliberately no movement check - you do not need to wiggle or jump. Standing still is the point.
The AFK zone is the only passive income on the server, and over a long session it is the steadiest source of Starter keys there is.
Why everyone is fast in town
In the town world you have permanent Speed III. It is applied automatically when you arrive and removed when you leave - you do not need a potion, and it never runs out.
It is also re-applied if something clears your effects (a milk bucket, or an admin command). But it will not strip a Speed potion you brewed yourself, so there is no conflict if you drink one.
Where you respawn
| If you died with... | You respawn... |
|---|---|
| A bed | At your bed, as normal |
| No bed | In town, at the spawn point |
That is the whole rule. Set a bed if you want to wake up at home - otherwise you wake up in town, which is a long walk from wherever you were.
