Mentions, showing items, the tab list, and the Discord bridge.

Mentioning someone

Type @ followed by a player's name to mention them. They get a title across their screen and a sound, so a message aimed at them does not get lost in chat.

There is a 3-second cooldown on mentioning the same person again, so you cannot spam someone with pings.

@here and @everyone are disabled. You cannot ping the whole server.

You can also use & colour codes in chat.

Showing what you are holding

Chat supports showing an item to everyone - hover over it and you can read its full name, enchantments and lore, exactly as if you were holding it.

It is how you ask "is this worth anything?" without describing it.

The tab list

Press Tab and you get more than a list of names. Each player's entry shows their rank, their money balance and their coins, so you can see at a glance who is on and how they are doing.

Skins

/skin <name> changes your character's skin to another player's. You can also set one by URL.

It applies to you and persists across logins.

Discord

The server is bridged to Discord. Chat goes both ways:

• In-game chat appears in Discord, in the matching channel.
• Discord messages appear in game, attributed to the Discord user.

So you can talk to people online without launching Minecraft, and people in game can see and reply to what is said in Discord.

Some things are announced to Discord automatically - notably purchases from the store, and any order that was paid but could not be delivered because the buyer was offline.

The bridge only carries chat. Items, inventories and commands do not cross it - linking a Discord account does not give anyone access to your account.
